Obesity is a complex multifactorial disease. According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, the worldwide prevalence of overweight and obesity has doubled since 1980. Obesity rates have increased in all ages and both sexes. There are critical periods in obesity development. These include fetal life, early infancy, early childhood, puberty, young adulthood, pregnancy, and menopause. Nearly a third of the world's population is now classified as overweight or obese. Overweight and obesity are classified according to body mass index (BMI), which is a ratio of weight to height. Weight loss of 7-10% that is maintained may reduce weight-related co morbidities.
According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the environment, family, society, and culture affect development of overweight and obesity. Many people lack the knowledge to choose appropriate portion sizes and make good food choices. DaNutri's registered dietitian will provide nutrition counseling to help you understand the concept of eating behaviors and make better food choices.
Weight loss shouldn't be about deprivation, because diets that deprive people of their favorite foods tend to be short-lived, experts say. Instead, making small lifestyle changes are what make the difference. DaNutri provides a comprehensive weight management program which includes diet, physical activity, and behavior therapy that fit your personal needs. Our goals of weight loss therapy are to reduce body weight at an optimal rate of 1 to 2 lbs per week and to achieve an initial weight loss goal of up to 10% from baseline. These goals are realistic, achievable, and sustainable. To lose weight, an overweight person must take in fewer calories than are burned. A metabolic rate test is available to measure your resting metabolic rate and provide an estimated energy needs for weight loss. We provide recommended meal plans and grocery lists designed by licensed dietitians and doctors that are balanced to your personal calorie goals and special needs.
Who will benefit?
Individuals who are seeking weight loss, maintain weight, are diagnosed with diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure or other weight related conditions will benefit from this program.

What to Expect
DaNutri's weight loss program begins with an initial consultation to collect personal profile data about your height and weight, medical history, weight loss goals, exercise routine and eating habits. From this data we will be able to provide the estimated calories needed for weight loss, personalized meal plans and grocery lists, and a realistic date to reach your targeted body weight goal. We will also take and record your body measurements at every visits so you can see and be amazed on how your body changes during the weight loss period. You will be given a mobile and web account login information via email. You can access your meal plans and grocery lists on your mobile phone and log eating and exercise activities. You can also exchange foods for preferences to make the meal plan best fits your very own eating habits.
Learning to modify your eating habits and implement a healthier lifestyle is an important component of the weight loss program. Our weight loss education series will help you relearn how to approach food and eating. It will help you understand the emotional and psychological triggers that prompted you to overeat and gain weight. By understanding those triggers, you can focus on creating short- and long-term strategies to manage them, avoid pitfalls, and implement healthier behaviors.
It is highly recommended that you come back every 2-3 weeks to follow-up on your progress and discuss any obstacles you face.
Insurance Coverage
The weight loss program is covered by a variety of insurance plans. If you have private insurance (such as through your employer), check with your insurance plan for coverage details.
You will be interviewed by one of our registered dietitians. We will work together to build a healthy diet, to set personal goals, and to overcome any obstacles you may encounter. Follow-up visits are opportunities for you to report your progress towards goals and discuss any challenges you face.
We serve as a designated nutrition consultant upon signing a term of service agreement. In addition, we provide one-on-one nutrition counseling session for members with nutritional risks, menu review, meal observation, and Nutrition Care Plan development.
A meal replacement is a drink or bar that substitutes a solid food meal. Meal replacement is combined with protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, vitamins and fiber. It provides at least between 200 to 400 calories, just like a regular meal. Meal replacements have consistent calorie counts which mean you eat less total calories, though, at the same time you are overall balanced with protein, carbohydrates and fat which stabilizes your blood sugar and improves your energy.
Alli is a capsule that consists of an active ingredient called oralists which promotes weight loss by decreasing dietary fat absorbed. Once the capsule passes through your digestive system, it attaches to lipase (an enzyme that helps break down dietary fat) in your digestive system and stops 25 percent of your fat from being digested. The capsule helps undigested fat pass out of your body naturally making you absorb less calories. Dieting while using this weight loss drug will help you lose more weight than just dieting alone.
